945 Battery Street, San Francisco

This is a pre-earthquake (1906) Barbary Coast brick and timber building located next to the Levi Plaza. CCI converted a 52,000 square foot warehouse into a 70,000 square foot multi-use professional building, by adding 2 mezzanine levels of 3,000 square feet each and a new rooftop penthouse level of 12,000 square feet, for the second largest P.R. firm in San Francisco. An extremely fast-track project due to leasing constraints (running 10 hours a day, 6 days a week for 5 months), the project was completed on time.

720 California Street, San Francisco

Arch: TGA
Eng: Steven Tipping & Associates

This is a landmark seven-story San Francisco building bordering Chinatown and Nob Hill. CCI overcame the challenge of a unique retrofit due to restrictions that the exterior not be altered, while at the same time maintaining maximum interior usable space. CCI executed the Steven Tipping & Associates drop shear wall design. Shotcrete shear walls 110-foot high were connected to grade beam by installing W14 x 311 I-beams (HUGE!) for a total connected length of 800 feet. This design created the perfect setting for San Francisco's most creative ad firm, Goodby Silverstein & Partners.
